May is Hamburger Month

According to Adam Kuban of A Hamburger Today and Andrea Strong of The New York Post, May is the month to honor the hamburger.  The weather has been perfect for grilling should you have access to a rooftop or backyard Weber.  This fun albeit absurd celebration christened by the folks at White Castle lends an excuse to test whether butter in the center makes a better burger and which condiments really are award winning.

But sometimes having it your way means eating out, especially midweek.  Where to get the best burger in honor of National Burger Month? In D.C. residents are as passionate about their burgers as New Yorkers are about their pizza.  Be it Palena’s burger, Colorado Kitchen’s, Matchbox’s sliders, Polly’s, or Five Guys,  there are two weeks left in May to sample your favorites.  With so many new places that have opened, new renditions may give the old standbys some tasty competition.
