Mixtec Opens Today

I looked in the window as I passed the expanded Mixtec because this sweet looking old guy was sitting in a chair, facing out, people watching, alone. Further down the block, the sign on the door penned in tiny block caps read, “OUR RENOVATIONS ARE FINALLY FINISHED. WE ARE SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG. WE OPEN TODAY AT 4:00.” I turned to the guy and he nodded.
I’d never been, but I’d heard it’s not half bad. Maybe rice and beans with a margarita after the Adams Morgan farmers’ market.
