healing,
My intention is to speak to people who feel under the weather, not dry heaving in the am. Not sure how effective these suggestions are once someone is at that point. . . but who's to know?

The best hangover cure is to prevent it in the first place. If you will drink a glass of water after you finish one drink and before you begin the next one, you will not get a hangover.

Plus there is the concept of drinking moderately. What is the point of drinking until you are sick?

The advice about eating apples so you won't dry heave is lost on me. I am over 50, not a teetotaller and I have NEVER been so drunk that I was sick. Never.

i think the best thing for a hangover is water. literally drinking as much as your body can handle as fast as you can. when i have a hangover i drink it early and fast when i get up. of course drinking some the night before is even better, maybe even some while you are drinking.

I've always been a fan of one or two apples. Puts a little something in your stomach and helps to hydrate you. If you get sick, it's better to toss up apple remnants than dry heave.

How about garlic? It's already touted as a anti-viral, anti-biotic, anti-fungal. It may lower cholesterol, blood pressure, and decrease your chances of contracting diabetes. It may even have cancer-fighting properties.

Nutrients include iron, zinc, and the B vitamins as well as phytochemicals like allicin and oleanolic acid.

Why wouldn't it be a good hangover cure?

Re: #4. It has to be from a fountain! So glad you agree. Pebble ice also helps immensely. My regular hangover cure in college was a fountain coke with vanilla syrup from Sutton's, the old pharmacy in Chapel Hill. Ah, how I miss it.
